Privacy Policy
DaySpan is an offline date difference calculator that helps you measure the span between two calendar dates. This Privacy Policy explains what information DaySpan stores locally and how it is handled.
DaySpan does not operate an online date-processing service, user account system, advertising network, analytics service, or cloud synchronization service in the current version.
Information stored by DaySpan
DaySpan stores only a small amount of information locally so your selected dates and preferences can be restored.

Personal information
DaySpan does not require identifying personal information for normal use.
The app does not require your:
- Name
- Email address
- Phone number
- Home address
- Date of birth
- Username
- Password
Selected dates
DaySpan may store the Start Date and End Date that you select so they can be restored when you reopen the app.
These dates are stored locally in date-only form using the YYYY-MM-DD format.
DaySpan does not intentionally upload these dates to a DaySpan-operated server.
Date calculations
DaySpan uses your selected dates to calculate:
- Total elapsed calendar days
- Full weeks and remaining days
- Weekday count
- Weekend-day count
These calculations are performed locally on your device.
Weekday and weekend calculations
DaySpan treats Monday through Friday as weekdays and Saturday and Sunday as weekend days.
This calculation happens locally and does not require access to your personal calendar.
Today actions
DaySpan lets you quickly set either the Start Date or End Date to the current date.
The current date is obtained from your device for this function.
DaySpan does not use this feature to track your location or activity.
No calendar access
DaySpan does not require access to your device calendar.
The current version does not read, create, modify, or delete calendar events.
Selecting a date inside DaySpan does not give the app access to your personal calendar entries.
No location access
DaySpan does not request your precise or approximate location.
Date calculations do not require GPS or location services.
Theme preference
DaySpan supports System, Light, and Dark appearance modes.
Your selected theme preference is stored locally so the app can restore your preferred appearance.
In System mode, DaySpan follows the appearance preference provided by Android.
Haptic feedback
DaySpan can provide subtle haptic feedback for certain actions such as selecting dates, using Today, swapping dates, and resetting the calculator.
Your Haptics ON/OFF preference is stored locally.
Offline operation
DaySpan is designed to perform its core date calculations without an internet connection.
The current version does not use an online API to calculate date differences.
No advertising or analytics
DaySpan does not contain third-party advertising.
The current version does not intentionally use analytics SDKs to track your date selections or calculations.
DaySpan does not use an advertising identifier for personalized ads.
No calculation history
DaySpan does not maintain a separate history of your previous date-span calculations.
Only the current Start Date and End Date may be retained locally for restoration.
No account or cloud profile
DaySpan does not require a DaySpan account, username, password, or online profile.
The current version does not provide DaySpan-operated cloud synchronization.
Device permissions
DaySpan's core functionality does not require sensitive user permissions.

Data sharing and selling
DaySpan does not intentionally sell your locally stored selected dates or application preferences.
The current app design does not intentionally send those values to advertising networks, analytics services, or a DaySpan-operated cloud database.
Android backup and device transfer
DaySpan does not operate its own cloud backup system.
Android, Google, or your device manufacturer may independently provide app backup, restore, migration, or device-to-device transfer features.
Depending on your Android version and settings, eligible local app data may be processed by those platform services. Such processing is controlled by the relevant platform provider and is subject to its own privacy practices.
Deleting local information
Using Reset clears DaySpan's saved Start Date and End Date.
Theme and haptics preferences are not removed by the in-app Reset action.
You can remove all locally stored DaySpan application data through Android app settings or by uninstalling the app.
Data retention
Your selected dates and preferences generally remain stored locally while DaySpan's application data remains available on your device.
DaySpan does not maintain its own online database containing your date calculations.
Google Play and Android services
If you download DaySpan through Google Play, Google may independently process information related to downloads, installations, updates, security, compatibility, and other Play Store services.
That processing is governed by Google's and the applicable device provider's own privacy policies.
Children's privacy
DaySpan does not require account registration, public profiles, chat, social networking, or submission of identifying personal information for its normal date-calculation functionality.
The app does not include advertising or public user-to-user communication.
Security
DaySpan is designed to minimize unnecessary data exposure by keeping selected dates and preferences local and avoiding unnecessary online services.
However, no device, operating system, application, or storage mechanism can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated if DaySpan's functionality, technical implementation, legal obligations, or platform requirements change.
When changes are made, the Last Updated date shown at the top of this page will be revised.
